〈ちょっと ひとり言〉
2009年Barbra Streisandのアルバム「Love is the answer」に収録されていたのを聴いたのが、初めての出逢い。
一組のカップルの別れが描かれていて。
「♪あなたはどこからいったい始める？続くと信じていたのに、続かなかったものとどう向き合うの？まるで絡み合う葡萄の枝の様に、もつれ合っている二人の人生。あまりにも多くの昨日をバラバラにしなければならないのね。いつ どこでまた自分が恋に落ちるか分からないけれど、心の奥深くであなたを想い続ける」と歌われている曲。
別れの曲ではあるけれど、決して暗くならず前向きな気持ちがどこかに見えるのはJohny Mandelの作曲した流れる美しいメロディーのせいでしょうか。
そして、まるで一つのドラマを見ているかの様に、丁寧にえがかれた歌詞。
ご夫婦の作詞家Alan and Marilyn Bergmanのもの。
お二人のかく歌詞は、いつもいつも美しくドラマティックで洗練されています。
数多くのヒット曲がありますが、どれも美しい言葉。
この曲の歌詞の中でかかれている“Our lives are tangled like the brances of a vine”の表現は、心奪われます。
絡み合う葡萄の枝を想像し、そこまでの時間の経過と支え合う枝と、自然が作り出したフォルムの美しさを連想させます。
音も歌詞も美しいこの曲が好きで、歌っています。
