数多くの美しい曲をかいた作詞家（＆作曲家）Jonny Mercer の遺作となる作品

Jonny Mercer の死後彼の妻がこの詞を見つけ、作曲をBally Manilowへ依頼し曲が出来ました。

彼の死後7年目の事。

10月が去っていく悲しさ、切なさが歌詞と音から伝わってきます。

「♪10月が去っていく時　たそがれ時子どもたちは家路をいそぐ。私もかつてそうだった。10月が去っていく時　昔の夢が蘇る、あなたは私の腕の中に居て幸せな時を分かち合う。10月よ行かないでほしい、10月よ行かないで。かなしいけれど10月は去っていく～」と歌われる曲

Jonny Mercerは晩年どんな気持ちでこの詞をかいたのかしら、と思いを巡らせます。

単なる季節だけのものではなく、１年を人の一生に例えている様に感じます。

作曲者のBally Manilow の歌声ががとても有名ですが、Nanncy Willson .Rosemary Cloony . Diane Schurre　等々、数多くのボーカリストに愛され歌われている曲。

この季節、毎年ライブでは私も必ず歌っている曲

10月が過ぎ去る寂しさを感じます。

切なく美しい曲。10月が去ってしまう。
